Submission on same-sex marriage
This is the Equality Network's submission to the Scottish Parliament Public Petitions Committee, on same-sex marriage.

Scotland operates a segregated system of marriage for mixed-sex couples and civil partnership for same-sex couples. The Equality Network's manifesto calls for marriage to be opened up to same-sex couples, and civil partnership to be opened up to mixed-sex couples.

Early in 2009, the LGBT Network submitted a petition to the Scottish Parliament Public Petitions Committee calling for the introduction of same-sex marriage. The Equality Network was invited to make a submission to the Committee on the subject matter of the petition. Our submission is attached below.
