Written evidence on the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill
This is the Equality Network's written submission to the Scottish Parliament Justice Committee, for stage 1 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill.
The Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill was introduced in the Scottish Parliament on 5th March 2009. The bill is a general bill covering a range of criminal justice matters, and licensing arrangements. It is currently being considered by the Justice Committee of the Parliament, who issued a call for evidence on the bill.
Attached below you can find the written evidence submitted by the Equality Network, focussing on the issue of discrimination in prostitution law. We were later able to withdraw our evidence, because the concerns it covered were dealt with by Government amendments at stage 3 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Bill.
