European Commission consultation on discrimination law
Please answer this short survey by the European Commission, and help ban sexual orientation discrimination across Europe!
European law bans sexual orientation discrimination in employment and vocational training. The ban applies in all 27 EU member countries. This survey asks whether member countries should also be required to ban sexual orientation discrimination in education, social protection, health care, buying goods and services, and in housing.
In the UK, we already have a ban on sexual orientation discrimination in those areas, but putting it in EU law would mean that all EU countries would have to introduce a ban. It might also strengthen the UK ban.
We think we should warn you that the European Commission have not yet realised that some people do not define as male or female - the survey requires you to choose one or the other to describe yourself!
You can find the survey by going to this page and selecting the "Discrimination - does it matter?" questionnaire - currently 7th on the list.
