Stop Murder Music: Bounty Killer's London Concert
On Sunday at the Stratford Rex in East London the Metropolitan Police have approved a concert performance for Bounty Killer (real name Rodney Basil Price), who features lyrics enticing violence against gays - and even murder - in his repertoire. (

The Met have previously stated that artists would not be allowed to perform unless they sign the Reggae Compassionate Act (RCA), which prohibits the performance of any music that encourages or glorifies any form of violence. (

Lindsay Johns writes (

Bollywood: Time for Brokeback Mountain?
"
Dostana is a fun way to pave the way eventually for a Bollywood
Brokeback Mountain-type film" says the director. In
Dostana two of Bollywood's biggest heroes - John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan - only pretend to be gay to get closer to the object of their affection, Priyanka Chopra. Homosexuality remains illegal in India (Section 377), and is still considered a taboo topic by many. Karan Johar, Bollywood's biggest director hopes that a big film such as
Dostana can raise support for the repeal of Section 377. "This law is stealing people's rights," he says. "Everyone should be free to love whoever they want." His view is reinforced by one of his leading men, the hunky John Abraham, who supports the gay community. "All power to them," he says. "I respect my gay fan base and have gay friends." (

Norway: equal marriage, but not in church
New legislation on same-sex marriage approved by the Norwegian parliament in June amended the definition of civil marriage in Norway to make it gender neutral and extended parenting rights for gay and lesbian couples. This legislation becomes law in January. Couples with a pre-registered civil partnership will be able to convert it into marriage. The Norwegian state church has ruled out religious marriage for same-sex couples but is considering a new liturgy to give same-sex couples who want it a religious blessing. (
