The Equality Network works with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people and communities across Scotland. We provide support, advice and training in order to build stronger communities, ensuring that LGBT people and communities can share good practice; have the resources to reduce social isolation; and have the skills to improve equality and human rights in the law, services, employment and society in the communities in which they work.
As well as one-2-one support for groups, we also hold a number of events, produce research and guidance throughout the year. For a number of years we have run a LGBTI groups residential event, bringing together the leaders of community groups to learn from each other and to build sustainable relationships.
If you are a public body, organisation or company looking to engage with LGBTI employees or LGBTI people in your area, or if you are an LGBTI person who would like to set up a group for LGBTI people, we can support you. Contact the Equality Network’s Development Coordinator.
If you are thinking of setting up an LGBTI group in your area or want support with an existing group, contact our Development Coordinator who can help. For help in setting up an LGBTI sports group you can contact our partners at LEAP Sports Scotland, and in the Lothian’s area our partners at LGBT Health & Wellbeing can help too.
