The Scottish Parliament Equal Opportunities Committee is inviting people to submit their views on the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Bill. We strongly encourage everyone with an interest in the bill to tell the Equal Opportunities Committee what they think of it, because this will influence the Parliament’s approach to the bill. The deadline is this Friday 23rd August!
The Committee are asking eleven specific questions about the bill, but you do not need to answer them all – you can answer as few as you want. It is a good idea to say why the issue is important to you personally.
The Equality Network’s view is that the bill is a huge step forward for equality in Scotland, but we think it still needs some further improvements, especially in the area of transgender and intersex equality. You can read our comments on the eleven questions here.
