A key part of this is working to improve public policy and leading campaigns for LGBTI equality in Scotland.
Since we were founded in 1997 we have based all of our work on the priorities of LGBT people in Scotland. We do this by regularly consulting and working with diverse LGBTI communities across the country.
Over the past 16 years life in Scotland has improved significantly for LGBT people. We are proud to have led successful campaigns to secure equal rights for LGBT people in the law, from the repeal of Section 28 to our previous campaign for Equal Marriage. We are currently campaigning to reform the Gender Recognition Act. Read all about our Equal Recognition campaign and how you can get involved.
You can read about the Equality Network and Scottish Transgender Alliance priorities for the 2016-21 Scottish Parliament session, in our LGBTI Equality Manifesto 2016.
A key part of what we do is working to influence and improve public policy on LGBTI equality in Scotland. Equality Network’s most recent responses to Scottish Government consultations can be found in our Consultation Responses.
We will shortly be publishing the results of our recent Time for Change consultation, on the future priorities of LGBT people across Scotland.
Our policy work is partly funded by the Scottish Government, for whom we act as a strategic intermediary, while our campaigning work is completely funded by your donations. If you would like to support our work, click here to see how you can help.
