Covid-19 related healthcare
In our 2013 Survey, many respondents reported difficulties in finding inclusive and affirming healthcare providers who understood their unique needs and challenges. Results from our new survey showed a hopeful picture of how medical professionals and volunteers treated bi+ people during the pandemic, especially in vaccination centres. Out of a total of 307 respondents, only one reported experiencing biphobia from Covid-19 related NHS services.
Some people reported that experiencing biphobia in the past made them wary of NHS (and other) services. They would therefore not mention being bi+ wherever possible.
